Solar Eclipse;The rare celestial feast
Kerala witnessed the last solar eclipse of the decade on 26th December 2019.North Kerala Districts of Kasargod, Kannur and Kozhikode witnessed full solar eclipse on Thursday.The eclipse was partial in other districts of the state.The eclipse which began at 8am continued till 11.15am. An expert talk on the Intervention of technology in classroom
Dr. Sunil K. Narayanankutty, Professor,Controller of Examinations & Dean, Faculty of Technology Dept. of Polymer Science and Rubber Technology,Cochin University of Science & Technology,Kochi have given an expert talk on the use of technology in every day classroom. T echnology can be leveraged to encourage collaboration and creative problem-solving in the students.Dr sunil highlighted the importance of technical knowledge for the teacher trainees to impart education in the contemporary society.The various ways of incorporating technology and the various means by which it can instill interest in the students were clearly stated in the session.It was a great privilege to all in this field of education.
Christmas Celebration
On 21st december 2019 ,our college celebrated Christmas with great enthusiasm and a variety of programs were conducted by the B.ed students . The story of the birth of Lord Jesus and the legend of Santa Claus was enacted. The Principal and the management conveyed messages on the the spirit of giving and sharing and everyone exchanged gifts with each other. The Teacher educators sang melodious carols and the students danced with delight.Sweets were distributed and the whole team shared christmas day greetings with each other. The college was closed for the christmas vacation .
Visit to kuthampully
Field trips are always welcomed by all giving fresh and concrete experiences in life. A visit to Kuthampully in Thiruvillwamala going through the lives of the old traditional handloom techniques of the weavers provide heart touching experience to all the trainees.They went in groups and enquired the procedures and the ways of their traditional living style.It was not only a way of completing the task assigned in the curriculum but a proud feeling towards our own culture and traditions.
PREPARATION FOR CHILDREN'S DAY CELEBRATION
The B.ed trainees organised a program in the fond remembrance of Jawaharlal Nehru and conducted a discussion on the significance of observing his birthday as childrens day.Nehru's great contributions for the development of our country were mentioned and they pay homage to him.
INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH ' JICA'
ARAFA INSTITTE FOR TEACHER EDUCATION ,ATTUR hoisted an extension activity for the B.Ed trainees in collaboration with Japan International Corporate Agency.The guests of the day gave a clear detailed explanation of the job oppurtunities in Japan and they assured their support in training the students Japanese if they are interested in it.
ARAFA SCHOOL YOUTH FESTIVAL "MIZHIVU 2019"
Student Teachers of our college extended their support in carrying out the school youth festival programs by judging the various items and thus improving their expertise.
Anti corruption week observed
Dr.Tamilselvam,Director of the Panchakarma Research Institute,Cheruthuruthy provided a valuable talk on the need of being conscious about the ways in which common people get corrupted by government and non governmental organisations and fostered the spirit to stand united with integrity in washing out such evil system in the society.Posters were presented by the student teachers and they interacted well in the session.Teachers and students took an oath against corruption and they raised their eagerness in taking the e-pledge to show their commitment towards the society.
AYURVEDA DAY CELEBRATED
The natural science club of our college organised a variety of programs spreading the importance of Ayurveda in every walk of life.
UN day celebration
United nations Day was celebrated on 24th October 2019 at the college auditorium.The program was hoisted by the social science club "SAAGA" of the college.Principal Dr.Gangadevi inaugurated the function .General secretary of the college Smt.Jasmine and club representative Abdul Rahman delivered an authentic talk about the relevance of the day celebration.
