THE COLLEGE
Arafa Institute for Teacher Education is a self-financing B.Ed college established in 2005 by Arafa Charitable Trust and recognized by NCTE and affiliated to Calicut University. The B.Ed course of duration 1 year, has an intake of 100 students in 5 optional subjects viz, English, Mathematics, Natural Science, Physical Science and Social science. The Institute has entrusted itself to promote quality education through innovative ways and laudable exposures to participate in national building.
The B.Ed College is located in Arafa nagar 500 mtr from Attur bus stop in Thrissur – Shoranur, State Highway which is 26 kms from Thrissur and 5 kms from Shoranur. The residential area around and greenery environment campus makes it and ideal location for educational endeavours.

Library
Arafa Institute for Teacher Education has a well established library which caters to the need of the students, research scholars and the faculty. The library functions on an open access system for the faculty members and students. It has a collection of resource material in the form of CDs, audio visual aids, educational videos, journals, books and newspapers. This collection is expanded and updated each year. A combination of online and offline information resources are offered and it provides a holistic and comprehensive service.

Educational Technology Laboratory /Language Laboratory
This
centre situated next to our mini library has a smart board with LCD and OHP
projectors and smart board to aid the teaching-learning process. The
student-teachers make use of the centre for instructional training. They used
to train themselves in managing ICT oriented classrooms. It also have all the facilities
to function as a language lab which is highly recommended for a second language
classroom.
Psychology

A Psychology Laboratory is maintained by the College in which experiments in Psychology are conducted as part of the B.Ed. practical curriculum.

Computer
Laboratory
The College has an ICT centre that can accommodate 100 students at a time. B.Ed students use Computer Laboratory for PowerPoint presentation and reference purposes. Computer literate students and students with knowledge of computer applications assist beginners during their free time

Laboratories
Biological Science, Physical Science Laboratory and Social Science Laboratory enable the Students to use the laboratories during teaching practice. Initial preparation in the conduct of experiments and use of apparatus is practised at the laboratories.
College Hostel
The hostel functions within the College campus with the objective of fostering fellowship among the hostellers and promoting personality traits related to the teaching profession. The mess provides both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Games and recreational activities to promote physical development, and personal guidance are provided to the hostellers. The hostel functions under the guidance of the Warden.

The College has playgrounds for Throw ball, volley ball, Tennis, Basket Ball, Tennicoit, Badminton, Shuttle Cock, etc. Assistant professor in Physical Education is in charge of the sports and games activities.
